Where the Idea Came From

For Valentines 2006 Catherine Wright Designs participated in the “Share Love Give Hope” campaign, by donating 1$ for ever dozen roses sold, to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Cathy Anstett owner of Catherine Wright Designs broke her ankle, two years ago falling on ice. This experience changed her life. Cathy remained in a wheelchair for nearly two months where she was inspired by her family, friends and the community to the point where she focussed on positive thoughts and helping in the global community.

She was inspired by her sister-in-law to create a list of 100 things she wanted to do - travelling to Africa just happened to be #99. She has been passionate about travelling to Africa for many years. In 1975 her parents met two couples from Ottawa on a jewellery trip touring South Africa. Later that same year Cathy was introduced to their children and became close friends with one of their daughters. They have maintained their friendship all these years. Cathy, Claire, and her husband, Julian will experience the life and culture in Kenya. Together, they will experience first-hand the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on children, their families, and the community. They will also see how World Vision helps fight HIV/AIDS and provides hope and comfort to those affected.

World Vision has made a special commitment to fight HIV/AIDS. Through prevention, care, and advocacy programs, World Vision brings comfort to children and families and builds hope for an HIV-free generation.

As team members of CWD, we feel the need to educate and inspire others to find their passion in life. Whether that be travelling to Africa, sponsoring a World Vision child or working within your own community. It’s your choice to be creative, have fun, share the love and give hope to others close to you and around the world - no matter what colour, religion or creed. Find what you love, and do it non-stop!
